Introduction
Workplace stress and burnout contribute to absenteeism, reduced productivity, and declining well-being. This study evaluates the effectiveness of NeurOptimal® neurofeedback in mitigating stress and burnout using a double-blind, randomized design. Participants were divided into three groups: NeurOptimal®, Sham (placebo), and Control (no intervention), with outcomes assessed over six months. There were 10 participants in each group (30 total). Participants in the NeurOptimal® and Sham (placebo) groups received 20 sessions over a 22 week period (one session a week with two make up days for people who missed one of their weekly sessions).
-Significant reduction in stress and personal burnout was observed in the NeurOptimal® group, sustained six months post-training.
-Sham (placebo) group showed some improvements, but they were not statistically significant and faded within three months.

Conclusion & Implications
NeurOptimal® effectively reduces workplace stress and burnout, with long-term benefits. These findings have important implications for high-stress professions, such as first responders, healthcare workers, and corporate leaders. Given rising occupational stress, neurofeedback presents a promising, non-invasive intervention for improving mental resilience and performance. Further research with expanded participant pools is recommended.
“I used to bring work issues home with me and would spend all my time thinking and worrying about awful things I saw at work like "I can't believe that happened to that poor child", now I am much more able to leave work at work and actually decompress and recharge when I go home."
